Security Role

Posted on by 520

Hello,

User A has only Salesperson role(default OOB), so he can access all the sales related entities as per the privileges defined in that role.I am also having the default privileges set,  in Service tab of the same role.

When I logged in with USer A ,he can see sales and marketing related entites , but cant see any service related entity.

What is the reason for such behavior?

Also I don't want to give any other Security role to UserA to see service entities. I want he can use the privileges defined in salesperson role and can see the entities under Sales module only.If he cant see the service related entites under salesperson role, then what is the benefit/use of using service tab under salesperson role?

I would appreciate , if anyone can clear this confusion. Thanks in Advance!

    RE: Security Role

    Hi Megha,

It looks like you don't have the services tab/sitemap added. You can confirm if the user has required permissions or not is by doing an advance find and select cases. If the cases list showed uo then the issue is not related to permissions.

You can also try the direct url (change the crm url as per yours)-

    https://<your crm url i.e. org.crm.dynamics.com>/main.aspx?etn=incident&pagetype=entitylist

    Hope this helps,

    RE: Security Role

    Hi Megha ,

Its seems you have provided sufficient privileges , make sure you re login in the CRM instance . Also try to  clear browser cache , login with  different browser , different user assigning same security roles.

If above does not help create new security role copying  "CSR Manager" and assign to the user , see how its goes.

    RE: Security Role

    Hello Megha,

We are giving entity access in a security role  with common template , you can modify as you wish , so its expected that service tab will come every security role. If my understanding is correct , you are modifying OOB Salesperson security roles. Remember Salesperson having minimum security privileges compare to other OOB roles . So there is huge chances you have missed some privileges .

For best practice instead of changing OOB security role , create another custom security role copying from another Roles (System Administrator or any ) and remove the privileges of the entity which you don't want.

We may help you if you share what privileges you have given for service tab of salesperson  roles.
