Not sure if this is one of the posts you've read, but if a partner has done this work on numerous occasions, it would be a good idea to at least have a conversation with them.

If you are using SmartConnect from eOne, it is possible to create your own nodes for areas of Dynamics GP not provided by Microsoft directly. Using Node Builder might be the right tool for this job.
