How to reverse Paid Transaction Removal

Is there a way to reverse the paid transaction removal and return the receivable documents, including the apply details, back to open status? We ran this process for the first time and have now determined a few days later that we require the transactions be returned to open due to an external app reporting only on the RM20201 details.

PSTL Paid Transaction Unapply tool is not an aption as the apply details must be retained.

Recommendations?

Thanks and hope someone can provide some insight.

No, the PSTL tool is the only way to get transactions back to the open tables.

Can you void the payments and credits? This will bring the AR documents back to the Open side. You could then enter credit memos for the same amounts and dates and apply them to the invoices and this time do not run Remove Paid Transactions.

Hi Richard, only Purchasing allows historical transactions to be voided. In Sales once Paid Transactional Removal has been run, they cannot be voided. Unless brought back to open using PSTL.

Thanks for the correction. Looks like the PSTL tool is the only way to accomplish this.

If you have a lot of them, create a macro using window's mail merge and let run.

    Kind regards,

    Hi GP Peers,

Thank you for all your feedback.

Unfortunately there are hundreds of thousands of entried that have been moved to history so a macro is not an option. And the PSTL unapply is not an option as we dont want the applied details to be lost as recreating it is not an option with such a large dataset spanning several years.

Since there is no solution thru SQL to accomplish this that I can find online, can anyone tell me when transactions are moved to history and (ie a payment is not fully applied) does the remaining unapplied amount have it's own record in RM20101 before running Remove Paid Transactions?

My thought is to return the transaction details to RM20101 and RM20201 and then adjust the RM00401 DCStatus for these transaction from 3 back to 2 (open status).

Has anyone performed this type of action from the backend?

I also have an earlier copy of the company database, prior to running removal however I can not restore as our firm has too many RM transactions entered and posted since the removal procedure was performed almost a week ago.

My last resort seems to be to determine what was moved from open to history and then return those records back to the open table using the copy I noted above.

Anyones thoughts or cautions regarding this type of action?

    Anyone?

possibly a dumb question, why not program the outside app to look at both data tables?

    Hi Ian,

No question is ever dumb.  Agreed that the best resolution would be to update the outside app. And this is what has been decided will be done.  Again thank you everyone for your suggestions.

Ian's answer is the best solution. There's no reason to corrupt your data to fit the requirements of a poorly written report! :)

You should be able to take the report query looking at RM20101 and create a union with the RM30101 & related tables.

Oh, and a hint on Paid Transaction Removal. When you run it, set the Cut Off Date for one or two months prior. IOW, if you're running it in August set it to June 30. That way if there are any bounced checks or other adjustments you can still make them.

And, It won't move transactions that aren't fully applied.

that's about all I know 'bout Paid Transaction Removing.
