Delete privilege / related entities

Hello

I have a question. We are using opportunities with offers in D365 Sales.

Users dont have deletion privilege on offers but they do have on opportunties.

When they delete now an opportunity, all related offers are deleted as well. Is this standard? and why?

    Hi AlexQuest,

As per my very little knowledge, the action of this deletion is only removing the association with the offer record. This does not mean it is deleting offer records. If the user does not have the delete privilege on the offer table then the system is not going/allowing to delete.

    Hi @AlexQuest,

Yes. This is a standard behavior to maintain data consistency and avoid orphan records:

    Hi,

It is because of parental relationship between entities as described below:

If we set parental relationship then action taken parent will apply on child.

Example. If parent record deleted then child will also be deleted

Check relationship behavior for the lookup. Please refer below article which will help you to implement your requirement.
