Automatic record creation rule

Hi,

In automatic record creation rule, what is the difference between "SPECIFY CONDITIONS FOR RECORD CREATION" and "SPECIFY RECORD CREATION AND UPDATE DETAILS". Based on which one, records are created.

    The difference between the “SPECIFY CONDITIONS FOR RECORD CREATION” and “SPECIFY RECORD CREATION AND UPDATE DETAILS” is,

    For automatic record creation rule, first priority is given to “SPECIFY CONDITIONS FOR RECORD CREATION”. Based on selected option, it creates the record in CRM.

    Suppose you have selected first option “Create records for email from unknown senders” then the for all incoming emails, case record will be created.

    But if you want to restrict it to specific emails, say suppose create case record only if the email subject contains “Issue” word then only create the case record. In this scenario we could specify the condition in “SPECIFY RECORD CREATION AND UPDATE DETAILS”

    Thanks Nithya. This is my scenerio.

    1. I selected checkbox "Create records for email from unknown sender" as shown in the screenshot above.

    2. Also created a rule in SPECIFY RECORD CREATION AND UPDATE DETAILS as when email direction equals incoming, create a case.

    Now, I am sending an email from an account who is an user(admin role) in crm. Based upon the first point, the record should not be created. In my case, record is created.

    We specify the rules for record creation in specify record creation and update details.
