Installation with latest cumulative update

Hi guys,

I will perform a fresh installation with latest CU. My question are:

  1. Is there any how i can do the installation with latest CU without update CU after AX 2012R3 RTM installation as it almost takes 2 times?
  2. If i have to install AX 2012 R3 RTM, then can i install the latest CU and only do compilation one for all or i have to compile, synchronize each time for installation (RTM and latest CU), it takes too much time if i do 2 times for same tasks

    It is possible - look at Include cumulative updates and hotfixes in a new installation (slipstreaming) [AX 2012] on TechNet.

    understood but i am now unable to find slipstream for latest CU in LCS which i could before.

    Anyway, slipstreaming is not including application hotfix so in this case should i do compilation, synchronization 2 times?

    What do you mean by saying that "slipstreaming is not including application hotfix"? It is, as far as I can say. You install the application with all hotfixes you need and then complete the initialization checklist, including compilation. After that, the application is compiled and compiling it again wouldn't do anything.

    Hi Martin,

    I did try the link before but it only has the axupdate.exe, license folder, support folder which will ask you to install directly from Microsoft once you run axupdate.exe (requires login LCS and internet). The file is under 2MB so it will not be including slipstream as slipstreaming helps you to install AX with CU without internet.

    I still dont know why can i can not find Update button in my project from LCS to get Slipstream file.

    Let me correct my sentence slipstreaming is not including application (database) hotfix

    Unfortunately the correction didn't help me. Could you please elaborate what you now mean by "slipstreaming is not including application (database) hotfix"? Do you believe that slipstreaming ignores application hotfixes and installs only kernel hotfixes? That's incorrect.

    I see the link for CU12 slipstream on LCS without any problem. Make sure you're in the right project.

    You said you wanted to install AX with the latest CU. If it's still the case, you have all you need - cumulative updates is the very first item in the list of supported update types. "Application (database) hotfixes" don't apply to you, unless you silently changed your goal to installing AX with the latest CU plus some additional application hotfixes.

    Thank you very much for the clarification Martin.

    How about the direct link you sent before. It only has some files and folder which will requires internet and login lcs during apply so I assume it is not slipstream?
