"Swapping" a License

Hi:

We have someone leaving the company, and we want the new person to use her license.

How do we "transfer" this license?

    If you are in Business Central on-prem you just add the new employee as a user.

    In BC online you remove the license from the old user and create a new user.

    In your Microsoft 365 admin portal, remove the BC license from the person leaving and add to the new person. Then in BC, synchronize the users and update the permissions desired for the new person.
