Working on a silent installer for CU13 client updates. We updated the servers from CU9 using the axUpdate Utility, NOT with slipstream. However, it appears that the only way to mass deploy client updates is with the slipstream installer. If I update the client manually with the axUpdate utility (image left), I get a different version than with the slipstream installer (image right). Is this OK? Everything seems to work fine, but just wanted to confirm. Thanks.
Hi Tim,
It would be recommended to have the server kernel and the client kernel on the same version. As it is both having the version starting with 6.3.6000 it might work, but you have to test this carefully. The AOS logs will probably give some version compatibility warnings.
In the past, we had a kernel (at that time AX 2012 R2) with a bug that needed to be replaced with a new version. The new client kernel on the old server kernel was working, but not the old client on the new server.
