Workflow stuck - Waiting action

Hi,

We have a CRM workflow in place which is triggered on record creation and waits until 1 day before the start time being defined on that record. At that moment the workflow sends a simple email. 

Recently we noticed that this workflow is stuck (forever) in the waiting status for certain records while on other records it still works as expected. The workflows being stuck are suddenly set to a date with year 9999 in the postpone until field while for workflows still ok, this is a correct date in the future.

We performed some tests and can't seem to find where it goes wrong as it seems quite random. 

Does somebody experienced something similar or has an idea on what we can further do to troubleshoot this issue?

    hello ,

    Please navigate to that workflow open the process session and look for certain records which it is stuck and scroll all the way to the bottom and check what are the exception details it should give you some idea of what is going on with that record and why it is stuck.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your answer. The workflows actually do not error but remain in the waiting status with postpone until set to 12/31/9999.

    If I open such a session that is stuck, the details are empty.

    Hello,

    can you please confirm if am understating logic correct here : workflow triggers on record creation > waits for day before the start time is added on the record and then send email  and also workflow always run under owner's context so I would also check owners mailbox and see if the mailbox postpone processing date on the mailbox is set to the date you are mentioning.
