Should we go to SQL 2012 or stay with SQl 2008 with SL 2011 FP1 upgrade?

Currently we are on SQL server 2008 R2 and Dynamics SL 2011.

We are in the process of upgrading to FP1.

Is there any benefit in upgrading SQL to 2012 or can we just stay with SQl 2008 R2.?

    Hi Tasneem,

To go along with what Butch has stated. There is not benefit for upgrading to SQL 2012 for SL. The only reason to upgrade would be if other programs would benefit working on SQL 2012.

Unless upgrading to SQL 2012 has a specific benefit that solves a problem for you, I suggest you leave it be for now. Cleaning up after an SL upgrade is enough trouble without adding a database upgrade in to the mix.
