Purchase & Sales order link with Project

Hi Team,

Can anyone help me in understanding whether we can link Purchase or Sales order  with Project master as it is available in D365 FnO Project Management module.

    Hi Gaurav,

    Assuming you are using the full stock/production scenario.

    One option you could explore is to use item requirements to link a purchase and sales order for a project. Using this functionality you can specify the items for a project and then consume form either stock or directly through a PO.

    In addition you can set PO's to automatically create these item requirements when the PO is linked to a project through the PMA parameters. 

    All item lines are added to a single "Item requirement" sales order type against the project. When using a PO the LOTID of the line is then marked for use with the corresponding SO line LOTID and is referenced on the PO/SO under the "product" tab on the lines.

    There's a setting in PMA parameters under the general tab -> project purchases orders you can leverage to then auto consume the items to the project when the PO is receipted.

    The items are then included on the next invoice proposal for charging to the customer.

    Item requirements used to be limited to purely stock transactions but MS have recently expanded this to included non-stocked items as well.
