Sales Document Print Options

We have recently move to Microsoft Dynamcis GP 2010 and are curious as to where we would go to change the default settings under Sales Document Print Options!?! We would like the 'Invoices' to be selected by default under 'Include'. And when you click on 'Print' we would like the Destination "Report Type' to default to Standard and NOT Template. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

    Hi Mike,

Out-of-the-box, there is no way to default "Invoices" or anything else under the Include section.

For the report type - if you are not using templates, you can turn them off on the Template Configuration Manager window (Reports | Template Configuration). If you're not using templates at all - uncheck the Enable Report Templates at the bottom. If you only want to turn them off for certain companies/series/reports, you can go through the list and uncheck any sections where you are not using templates.

    Mike,

You can default the print options using QuickPrint. Select QuickPrint Setup and fill it in. To invoke QuickPrint select CTRL+Q.

    Examples below:

Has anyone resolved the defaulting of the report (SOP Invoice or SOP Order in this case) to Standard instead of Template?  We cannot turn off templates because we want to use them in some cases, even for the SOP Invoice/Order.  But we want the default to be Standard instead of Template, as Mike asked above.  I cannot find a way to do this without using VBA code.  That seems to be an extreme workaround and I can't believe there isn't a simpler solution that I am simply overlooking.

    Hi,

Leave the templates turned on - but turn off the default templates. My template configuration window looks like this:

When I print the SOP Document 'Standard' defaults, but I can change it to template if I want to.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Hi Leslie,

The screen shot of the Template Configuration window does not appear in the post.  I think I know what you are referring to. When I unmark the SOP Blank Invoice from the default templates to enable, it not longer appears in the list.

At the same time though, I still have the word template enabled.  When I choose to print the invoice, it still has Template as the default Report Type.  Did I overlook some configuration setting? Like others in this post, I have a client that wants to use both the Standard RW Invoice for customers that don't want invoices emailed and the Word Template for those that want them via email. The default should be Standard though.

To get 'Standard' as the default, you need to unmark the checkbox that has assigned a default template to the company. If you have no templates check as defaults, you have the option to change from standard to template at print time.

I don't think even with VBA you can be able to select Standard instead of Template.  But both options could be achieved with a small (but classical) dexterity customization.

Thanks for the quick response, Leslie.  I did unmark the checkbox for the SOP Blank Invoice but it is still defaults to the Template as the default Report Type. The client is using GP 2013 R2.

I also would like to have the default for all forms be the Standard and then on the select few customers, have the template used.

Daryle, what was the outcome of your changes as described by Leslie?

Once you marked the changes as noted, did you log off and re-enter  GP to ensure that the changes rolled out?

Be interested to know, as we have a number of clients that are 'starting' to turn onto the templates, but not many and I am sure this will come up as a question.

    Let me know what happened.
