Fixed Assets

I am sure that someone has an answer to this. We are retiring fixed assets, they are fully depreciated, not sold and not traded just no longer in service. I am wondering if GP10 will generate the GJE to take them out of Fixed assets and accumulated depreciation or do we manually make an entry?

    Hello Connie,

    Welcome to Dynamics GP Community

Of course you can do this through Fixed Assets module.

You can go to Transactions > Fixed Assets > Retire.
Even if the asset is not fully retired, the process will take care of the period by depreciating the asset until the "Retirement Date", and generate the associated journal entries to be posted on the General Ledger level.

Further details can be found on the online tutorials provided by Rose Business Solutions - Fixed Assets Retirement in Dynamics GP
