SQL Server Connectivity Issue: Connection not open. Login timeout expired

Hi Community!

I am investigating performance issues with a Dynamics AX 2012 instance and getting the following errors in Event Viewer on the AOS server. Ping to DB server is running fine. However, the client freezes over and over again. Has anyone else faced this issue ever and how can it be resolved?

Kernel version: 6.2.2000.14
Application version: 6.2.1000.1437

Object Server 05:  The database reported (session 24 (erosanaw)): [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Connection not open.

Object Server 05:  SQL diagnostics: [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0]Login timeout expired. 

Object Server 05:  Fatal SQL condition during login. Error message: "[Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0]Login timeout expired"

    Hi Muhammad,

    Could you please check the following?

    1. Is the SQL Browser service running?

    2. Go to SQL server configuration manager and check if protocol TCP/IP is enabled as shown -

    IT was restarting the SQL service without communicating! Please disregard this issue.
