Can we create Auto generated numbers for Service Activities?

I have researched and found that Contracts, cases, articles, quotes, orders, invoices, and marketing campaigns are automatically numbered by  CRM.

We would like to have auto generated numbers for Service Activities.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

    Hi Jenny,

    As stated above, there isn't an out of the box feature that autonumbers the activities, but you could use real-time workflows as Jason has suggested.  You may also want to look at the North 52 Business Process Activities Formula Manager (www.north52.com/.../formula-manager) which has an autonumbering formula included and has a free solution available for download.

    I've also been experimenting with the Planet xRM Auto ID Generator (www.planetxrm.com) and found it to be particularly useful.

    The solution you go for really depends on your numbering needs, suffice to say there are quite a few options out there.

    you could use a custom solution to perform the autonumbering or take in consideration a third part solution.

    Strictly speaking there isn't an auto number feature for service activities.

    You could use an approach like this (CRM 2013): The Power of Synchronous Workflows For Autonumbering

    Otherwise there are other solutions available to create you own auto number: Advanced CRM 2011 Auto Number
