We recently replaced 2xp computers with 2 new ones using win7pro. The upgrade went smoothly and all aspects of RMS 2.0 seem to work fine even after playing around with trying to get the older xppro backoffice computers to see the new win7pro cpu that holds the database. All 8 of our computers are able to use manager now and the 3 pos terms work fine. Two pos terms use epson usb TM88v rect printers w/ cash drawers. At the present time we process our credit cards through a separate FD100 not connected to the pos terms. Although the card transactions are keyed into RMS at time of tender, RMS does not communicate the transaction with the card processing company.
We recently purchased 2 Magtek Mini usb hid swipe readers and 2 Topaz SigCapture LCD signature pads so we may keep image of customers transaction and have RMS to communicate with the ceredit card processor.
We had a heck of a time trying to set up both the msr and the sig pad. To date it has been unsuccessful. I was told by Magtek that there are no OPOS drivers for any of their units under Win7pro and that the msr's simply will not work. Do you know if this is true? Has anyone had any luck with Magtek units under Win7pro? Can RMS use JOPOS or UPOS drivers? Supossedly these drivers will work with Win7pro but not necessarily RMS.
The sig capture is a Topaz HSB462 LCD usb pad and will work in Win7pro but will not be seen with RMS even with the Topaz opos drivers. Do you know if this sig pad will work with RMS and win7pro. If so how do we get the OPOS drivers to be seen and used by RMS. We need to use both of these devices so we may eliminate the use of the separate FD100 and keep all the credit transactions in the RMS database and begin processing our credit card activity with the new processing company. Are we going to have to go back to xppro to get this equipment to work or is there some other equipment or brands of sig capture and msr we could use?
Help Please!!!

Neil,
MagTek readers are no problem. We never set them up as OPOS devices though. We leave them as Keyboard Wedge. This essentially make Windows think it has another keyboard attached, and RMS has no problems with this configuration.
As far are the topaz, sorry no ideas there, we have never worked with them.
