I am trying to upgrade GP 10.0 SP5 to a build number that will be suitable to move to GP 2013.  I am able to apply the proper service pack, but I cannot launch utilites becasue the product microsoft online services cannot upgrade.  It has a product number of 6499.  I have found a lot of blogs that speak about this issue, and tell you to delete the product out of the set file as well as alter the dynutils.set file.  I do not want this module or the product, but it is still nested somewhere.  When I run GP utilites it cannot verify the product version becasue it is still recognizing the online services piece that won't upgrade.

Hi - do what the blogs say and remove it from your set file. Sometime in the past the product was installed. I'm guessing at your last version upgrade it wasn't included and now sits at a previous version. You cold edit the DBUpgrade table and set the version numbers to the correct ones - but this is just fooling the system...and when you run utilities you may get errors when it tries to update the related tables and finds them in a different structure than expected.

Best to delete it from the .set files and run utilities.

    Ian.

Hello, I do face this problem always while upgrading or installing GP on new client. Here what I do:

    1. Under the Microsoft Dynamics\GP folder, locate and delete the DO6499.dic dictionary file.

    2. Remove all references of this product from the application launch file, DYNAMICS.SET & DYNUTILS.SET

    6499

    Dynamics Online Services

    :C:Program Files/Microsoft Dynamics/GP/DO6499.DIC

    :C:Program Files/Microsoft Dynamics/GP/Data/DO6499F.DIC

    :C:Program Files/Microsoft Dynamics/GP/Data/DO6499R.DIC

NOTE: Don't forget to decrease the number of products by 1 in the DYNAMICS.SET & DYNUTILS.set file. Usually, this is the first entry in the launch file.

    3. Locate the AddIns folder and delete the Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.OnlineServices.dll assembly file

    4. Also remove the Application.DynamicsOnlineServices.dll from the GP installation folder

    This will resolve your issue.

    Thanks

I have tried of the different types of suggestions from this post, but when you combine the right resolutions together, that product will be removed.  Here is the solution:

DYNAMICS ONLINE SERVICES APPLICATION (Product 6499) REMOVAL STEPS

Product 6499 is the new Dynamics Online Services module that has been added in Microsoft Dynamics GP 10.0 SP5 and Dynamics GP 2010 SP1.You can try the following in your test first:

    1. Make backups of all DB

    2. Run the scripts below

     Delete DYNAMICS..DU000030 where PRODID = 6499

     Delete DYNAMICS..DU000020 where PRODID = 6499

     Update DYNAMICS..DB_Upgrade set db_verOldMajor = 0, db_verOldBuild = 0, db_status = 0 where PRODID = 6499

    4. Under the Microsoft Dynamics\GP folder, locate and delete the DO6499.dic dictionary file.

    5. Remove all references of this product from the application launch file, DYNAMICS.SET.

    6499

    Dynamics Online Services

    :C:Program Files/Microsoft Dynamics/GP/DO6499.DIC

    :C:Program Files/Microsoft Dynamics/GP/Data/DO6499F.DIC

    :C:Program Files/Microsoft Dynamics/GP/Data/DO6499R.DIC

NOTE: Don't forget to decrease the number of products by 1 in the DYNAMICS.SET file. Usually, this is the first entry in the launch file.

    6. Locate the AddIns folder and delete the Microsoft.Dynamics.GP.OnlineServices.dll assembly file

    7. Also remove the Application.DynamicsOnlineServices.dll from the GP installation folder

    8. Launch GP  Utilities directly. Do not reinitialize by logging into Dynamics GP before launching Utilities.

THis you have done on Server. Now I want to know are you able to install or upgrade clients? I am sure you don't have to do :Update DYNAMICS..DB_Upgrade set db_verOldMajor = 0, db_verOldBuild = 0, db_status = 0 where PRODID = 6499

    Thanks
