Inventory Transactions Not Reversed After PO Cancellation (Fiscal Period Error)

HI All, 

We have a Purchase Order in the live environment that was originally created in October 2022. An attempt was made to cancel this PO in September 2024 through workflow approval. During workflow approval after initiating the cancellation, the following error is thrown:

“Stopped (error): Transaction date is not part of an open fiscal period within two fiscal years, or you do not have the necessary user rights.”
Although the PO status is shown as Canceled, the inventory transaction line still exists, and on-hand inventory has not been updated.
As per standard behavior, when a PO is canceled, the related inventory transactions should be deleted/reversed and on-hand should be updated accordingly, but that is not happening in this case.

 
 
Is there any supported way to fully cancel this PO, or to correctly clean up the existing inventory transactions for this scenario?

    What is the status of the PO lines? Is this also Canceled? Do you see open items to be received? If so, try to use the Deliver Remainder function on the lines to set the expected receipt quantities to zero.

       The Line status also in canceled state, the order is just confirmed and canceled with 1 quantity.

    Can you be able to trace the exact Inventory transaction line related to this PO? if yes, can you please share the status of that Inventory transaction line?

    Did you try updating the Remainder on line? 
     
    Navigate to PO line > Update remaindre and see if this helps?
