Precision of GPS coordinates

Hi

CRM provides fields for latitude and longitude which we use extensively. The filed uses a Floating Point Number with a precision of 5 decimal places. We need to improve the precision to at least 6 decimal places. How is this possible? The precision value cannot seem to be adjusted beyond 5.
