Modifing customer statement templates

Posted on by 70

After looking through the guides, I found reference to customer statement templates in the HQ getting started guide for RMS version 2.0 - viz.: "You can also use Headquarters Administrator to set the locations of the templates used for purchase orders, inventory transfers, and account statements. These settings are especially helpful when accessing templates that are written in foreign languages."

I haven't yet found anything on modifying the formats, though, such as field names or variable names.

Scott

Original question -

The default customer statements have a tearoff remittance stub, but the stub doesn't show a statement date or anything else to identify the invoices paid or how the payment is to be applied when there are multiple invoices.

Where can I find information on modifying statement formats in RMS?

Thanks,

Scott Bonacker

Thanks for that, do you have any idea where I can find information on variable names or field names to see what else is available to add to the statements?

Editing the template now is limited to rearranging what already exists.

    Hi Scott,

If you have a default installation, the template you need is located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Retail Management System\Store Operations\Receipt Template. There's an XML file there called Statement and its this that you will need to edit. Best make a copy of it then untick the Read Only in the Properties of the copied file before you proceed.  Once you have it set up the way you want, you can either rename it, and amend your configuration in Store Administrator, or else rename the original unamended file and call your new file "Statement".

    Cheers,

    Tara
