D365 Sales Copilot out of the box enable for few users based on security role

I am trying to configure D365 Sales Copilot out the box to enable for few users based on security role to rollout and test for few users only?

FYI: All users have D365 Sales Enterprise license

Previously when D365 Sales Copilot was enabled within my organization for all the users who had issues with error/notification message popping when the user was updating the lead/opportunity, the copilot automatically was querying and delayed the response and then error/notification message popped up.

Any suggestion and advise would help to rollout D365 Sales Copilot for my organization

Good morning, afternoon, or evening—depending on where you are in the world!
    Hope you're doing well.

To enable D365 Sales Copilot for a limited group of users based on security roles, follow these steps:

    1. Assign the Correct Security Role
    • Ensure only the users you want to test with are assigned either the Salesperson or Sales Copilot User security role. These roles control access to Copilot features. You can create a custom security role if you want more granular control, and assign it only to your pilot group
    2. Configure Copilot in the Sales Hub
    • In the Sales Hub app, go to:
      • App Settings > General Settings > Copilot
        • Enable Copilot features here. This activates the embedded Copilot experiences for users with the appropriate roles
    3. Enable Audit History
    • Copilot relies on audit history to track recent changes to leads, opportunities, and accounts. Make sure auditing is turned on for these tables. If it’s not, you’ll see an option to enable it during setup
    4. Control Data Movement (if needed)
    • If your region doesn’t have an Azure OpenAI endpoint, you’ll need to provide consent for cross-region data movement in the Power Platform Admin Center. This ensures Copilot can function without interruption
    5. Monitor Performance
    • Since you previously experienced delays and error messages when Copilot queried data during lead/opportunity updates, monitor performance closely during this limited rollout. If needed, disable Copilot for specific tables or reduce the number of summary fields it queries to minimize load.
Note: I collaborated with AI to help craft this response and ensure it’s as accurate and helpful as possible.

    Hope this helps some!
