Deployment manager is still showing old DB server

Hi

We decided to move CRM SQL Server to a new server. the migration process steps are below:

  • Backup and restore CRM DBs and SSRS into the new server
  • Change the server name in the DBCONFIG entry in the registry on the web server
  • Disable CRM organization and change SQL server name and SSRS and then apply
  • The error below showed during the last step :
    • Name translation: Could not find the name or insufficient right to see name (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80072116

However It  seems the application works fine the only issue is that the deployment manager still showing the old DB SQL server not the new SQL server

Does any one ever encounter this issue? and how do I fix this?

Thank you,

Are you sure that the actual CRM Application that you are currently viewing is not the one on the old server.

If you got an error during change, and it still shows the old one, it is possible the old one is still active.

    Please check.

    Thanks Eric,

I cleared out my doubt about this by creating a new contact from the UI and checked it on the new organisation DB on the new server.

Despite the error i mentioned to, the organisation properties in the deployment manager is showing the correct SQL server

The issue is just the server list under the deployment manager. it seems to be common  as i found some others complain about it.
