Custom Fields in PowerBI - Dashboard best practices?

Greetings all - I'm working on a big project for dashboards in Dynamics 365 online. In general the PowerBI add-ons looks cool, however, I read online that there is no support for custom fields in the online version which is a deal breaker. I assume if I create the dashboard with the desktop version I won't be able to push those live tiles into a Dynamics dashboard - true or false?

Any other good add ons to improve the out of box dashboard functionality - what I see is quite disappointing and hours of work to get setup correctly. Thanks in advance!
