I'm found our Serial Nu. for SQL Server in customer source registration , but how can get our copy from SQL server?

I try to enter sql web site with Microsoft live account, unfortunately can not get it.

Second, a third party will initiate a new Data base for manufacturing cycle, can we use the same SQL server that uses by dynamic GP?

You can have you partner request a SQL DVD be shipped to you. It should now be SQL Server 2012. The SQL you get through GP is a rutime verison only. As soon as you attach a non-GP database to it you are required to purchase a separate non-runtime SQL license.

The SQL media needs to be downloaded by your partner. There is no charge to you for the SQL license but your partner may may charge for the service of downloading. If I were you I would have them remote to your server, go into ParnterSource and download the media.

Here is all the legal verbage from Microsoft.

Microsoft Dynamics licenses SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition (Runtime) to be used exclusively with a licensed version of Microsoft Dynamics AX, Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, and Microsoft Dynamics SL. Using these licenses in conjunction with any other application – including Microsoft Dynamics CRM – is prohibited. Please refer to the SQL Server 2012 Runtime for Microsoft Dynamics Use Terms that may be found in the download folder below or alternatively at go.microsoft.com/fwlink for more information. Prior to installing the software at a customer location, you are responsible for providing your customer with a copy of these use terms and making sure that you and your customer understand and agree with these terms. If either you or your customer do not accept the SQL Server 2012 Runtime for Microsoft Dynamics Use Terms, you may not install the software. Failure to comply with this obligation will be deemed a material breach of the SPA pursuant to Section 10(c).

Customers must have a SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition (Runtime) license for each deployed server. SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition (Runtime) Client Access Licenses (CALs) are licensed per (named) user or per device and not per concurrent user. SQL Server Customers must license one CAL for each named user accessing the Microsoft Dynamics unified solution unless the named user only accesses the unified solution uniquely through devices for which the customer has acquired the appropriate number of CALs.

Please note that SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition (Runtime) licenses do not have License Mobility rights and are not entitled to the reenrollment policy.

Customers that are current on a maintenance plan with SQL Server 2008R2 Enterprise Edition (Runtime) on their account will be upgraded to SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition (Runtime) upon request. If you are a Partner and your Customer wants to upgrade to SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition (Runtime), please submit a service request to your Microsoft Dynamics Regional Operations Center.

SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition (Runtime) is only available to customers as an upgrade from SQL Server 2008R2 Enterprise Edition (Runtime). SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition (Runtime) is not available for licensing of additional server licenses or CALs.

For more information on SQL Server 2012 Enterprise Edition (Runtime), including details on the above, please refer to PartnerSource: go.microsoft.com/fwlink.

I know SQL 2012 was going to be added to the list this fall...do you know if it's available now as a download for partners?

It is now available as a partner only download on PartnerSource.

You can download the Enterprise Edition from here: mbs.microsoft.com/.../General.aspx.

And the Standard Edition here: mbs.microsoft.com/.../General.aspx

    Dear Mr. RICHARD

Are you sure about ability to download SQL Server 2012 Standard Edition from partnerSource?!

I have forward your link in last post to our partner, unfortunately the link for downloading Standard edition does not work.

so he tried with Microsoft, and send me his mails with Microsoft Operation followed the last one

"Thank you for contacting Microsoft Dynamics.

For the standard edition, no link is required, the system automatically updates.

It is only the enterprise edition that you will need to order via the pricesheet.

    With kind regards,

    Microsoft Dynamics

    MBS Customer Operations

    EOC, Ireland"

    Thanks for advice.

Our partner downloaded SQL Standard for us with no issues; SQL Server does not automatically update to a new version on it's own.

I just tested this link from within the United States and it took me directly to SQL Server 2012 Standard download.

    mbs.microsoft.com/.../General.aspx

This one is for SQL Server 2012 Enterprise.

    mbs.microsoft.com/.../General.aspx

As Carl mentioned there is no auto update feature for SQL Server. I think to what EOC Ireland is refering is the license. You still have to download the media but SQL Server 2008 R2 does transition to SQL Server 2012.

Is there an other way can the customer do to get his own copy from SQL STD 2012?

    Thanks

Not free...if they won't get it for you, find another partner.

You could buy a retail copy, but that defeats the purpose.
