GP 2015 Budget import issues

Having weird issue where budget is being over written some how..  the budget is imported using excel.   I looked at the sheet and its very basic, has no special codes in it, single tab.   not sure what else to check.   Basically to fix this, I pull the backup from before the import and compare the values. on the GL00201 table

Basically when the user imports a budget for 2017.  I can see off the GL00201 table budget 2017 has Year1 field of 2016.  Sometimes it pushes budget of previous years back.   Budget year 2016 will have Year1 of 2015 and Budget year 2015 will have Year1 of 2014.

The year that gets push back is random.  The latest import of budget 2017 did not push the years back on 2016 / 2015

The second fields that gets change is the PERIODDT.   The PERIODDT also gets push back a full year.   So basically I pull all the PERIODID - 1-12 and compare vs the backup and update the values on the table

So if the user updates Budget 2018, the Budget 2017 will get PERIODDT & YEAR1 push back 1 year to 2017.

If the user updates Budget 2017, the Budget 2016 will get PERIODDT & YEAR1 push back 1 year to 2016.

I'm wondering if its worth wiping out all the budgets and importing only the newest 2 or 3 years thats needed.  Are there any other budget tables that is change when a budget gets inputted besides GL00201 ?

Thanks..

Hi! Did anyone reply to this?   This keeps happening every year.

We can run a simple script to fix the Year1...but, would like to know how to prevent this from happening again!

    Thanks!

Nope.. I guess no one had this issue.   We stop using that feature, so have not had to troubleshoot that again.

I've dealt with the budget import feature in GP in the past and never ran into the issues you're describing here.. Could it be related to a non-standard FY setup ?

Does it still happen on newer GP versions ? my experience was based on 2013, but I'd believe that fundamentally it has not changed the way the data imports..

Look for blank/invalid entries between the GL00200 and GL00201 tables.  There should only be valid budget IDs and valid accounts referenced in the tables.
