    Hi,

    Check

    1. notification setup for the requester. it should be Notification Type = Approval and method = Email and Schedule = instantly

    2. check "Notify Sender"  tick box in workflow. To find this tick box, Click on then line where says "Send approval request for the record and create a notification." system will come-up with new screen where you will see a Boolean "Notify Sender".

when the requester places the approval... the approver gets the email notification (fine).... when the approver approves it, the requester does not get it a notification to say it was approved :(

    RE: Approval (Requester) notification

ideally both sender and approver should have there own email address, but it is not compulsory as system send a notification to id which is updated on email id column against user id in approval user setup.

Some of possible root cause  are-

1,Check Email Setup. should setup with 365 account or SMTP

    2. Check all email id's are valid email id.

    3. check notification setup. Notification type should be approval and method should be email. also check notification Schedule and setup instantly if you are expecting email instant

    4. Check "Notification Dispatcher" codeunit in job queue.

In the approval user setup... Is the emailed address to each ID there approver or there own email?

Common error with that codeunit is approval user setup missing. All users need emails and notification setup.

    Hi,

Check in Job queue entries, is any error for "Notification Entry Dispatcher".
