IUR Customer Engagement Plan and Marketing

Hi,

We are a gold partner with 75 x D365 Customer Engagement Plan licenses for internal use (IUR).

These of course are the old style licenses, not the new base+attach model.

These old Plan licenses means that, in theory, we are eligible for the Marketing application, 2,000 Marketing contacts, and a Marketing Portal.

Question 1) Do our IUR licenses allow us to use Marketing, with all or only some of these features?

Question 2) How do we add more Marketing contacts?

With the old Plan license model, we are supposed to buy an 8k contact pack first, before we can then add contacts in 5k packs.  The 8k packs are no longer available for purchase, so how do we maintain compliance according to the old Plan license model?

Question 3) If a Marketing Portal is not provided, how do we license this?

Again the old Plan licenses for the Additional Marketing Portal (Qualified Offer) is no longer available to purchase new.

Thanks.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Nick

    Q1:

You can check whether Dynamics 365 for Marketing is included as an item in your license plan.

https://admin.microsoft.com/ > Billing > Licenses > your license > Manage subscription details > View apps and services included with this subscription.

    screencapture_2D00_admin_2D00_microsoft_2D00_2021_2D00_02_2D00_19_2D00_17_5F00_38_5F00_34.png

If the app is included, then you can use all features.

(Or check whether there is Dynamics Marketing app available in Power Platform admin center > Resources > D365 apps, by default the app is in unconfigured status.)

    Q2:

Marketing contacts are cumulative throughout your license period, you can upgrade subscription on contract renewal.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/setup-troubleshooting#how-is-dynamics-365-marketing-licensed

    Q3:

It is optional to integrate Marketing Application with portal, in other word, Dynamics 365 Portals and Power Apps portals are licensed separately from Dynamics 365 Marketing.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/purchase-setup#user-and-portal-licensing

To receive better and explicit answers about license topic, I suggest you contacting with Sales.

    Hi Clofly,

    Thank you for your response.

Remember these are IUR licenses, and are the very old Plan licenses which have different compliance and rules for Marketing.

Q1. Unfortunately we have so far been unable to get this information. We receive an error when trying to view the apps included in the subscription.

    pastedimage1614114783535v2.png

Q2. We are a CSP Direct partner, and I am aware of cumulative nature of the Marketing contacts. My question here is that the Marketing app is free with 10 or more full licenses. For the old Plan license model, this only included 2,000 contacts.  If I were a customer, I would have to purchase an 8,000 pack first to bring the contacts to 10,000 before I could then purchase any additional contacts.  This 8,000 contacts SKU is no longer available.  How can I be sure to meet licensing compliance?

Q3. The first Marketing portal was free provided you have the Marketing app in the old Plan license model. We want to use the portal, so Q1 may answer this once I can see the apps included with the Plan license. I am aware of Power App portal licensing.

I did contact Sales before I posted my original questions, and they were unable to assist due to these being IUR licenses. They suggested I pose my questions in this community.

    Thanks again.

    Hi Nick,

    Q1:

Due to it is an unforeseen error, so the only solution is to create a support ticket and ask investigation for your account.

    https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/support

    Q2 & Q3:

The community is mainly focusing on issues when using Dynamics products, we are willing to answer your questions at our best.

Try contacting Billing Support in M365 admin center if you have contacted Sales both by sending a request and by phone call and didn't get the answer you want.

Hi Nick, we are facing the same issues and are looking for the answer by Microsoft for months. Unfortunately still no result. Did you resolve the issue related to Question 2?

    Hi,

No I did not get answers to any of my questions.

I have tried various Yammer groups, Partner Community forums, Partner Support, Sales Support, and not one seems to be able to answer questions about IUR licenses.  Each one point me at somewhere else to ask the question.  Partner Support passed me between three different teams, each had no answer.
