Vendor and Customer Opening Balance Upload in AX 2009

Can anyone help me out in explaining procedure for uploading all customers and vendors opening balance in AX 2009? Which entity we need to select for template and What are the rules we need to follow with regard to this ? what are the fields we need to use normally in uploading the balances?

    Hi Prayaga,

    Usually, the opening balances for customers and vendors are registered/imported in a general journal. Then it can be validated and posted. At minimum you would need to have the customer account, invoice date, invoice number, due date, open amount (or full amount and also convert related payments). Possibly, you also want to put in a transaction text or financial dimensions.

    Good morning Prayaga,

    I noticed that you also asked for the item upload before.

    In general follow what Andre recommended in regards to the vendor /customer open balance upload.

    With the customer, vendor and item balances uploaded you are almost complete.

    What is still missing is the upload of the ledger balances. Uploading those balances requires that you exclude the uploaded customer, vendor and item amounts. Otherwise you have a double counting effect. I would recommend that you just give it a try in a demo or test environment if you haven't done this before. There you can check the uploads and try to reconcile them with your old system data before doing this is your live environment.
