Transmission failed due to unknown error

Posted on by 75,730

We have been processing PM EFT's for years and every now and then we get this message when submitting the EFT's: "Transmission failed due to unknown error". There actually is no error because the email notification did go out to the vendor. Is this some kind of error being returned by Outlook? Is there some timeout setting I can increase to prevent this message from occurring? This was GP 9 and is now GP 10.

Yes, it appears to be an issue with Outlook. I am not sure if it happens between GP and Outlook or when Outlook attmepts to send the email. The odd this is that the email is sent, we just get this errant message.

So it happens at the remittance printing stage (printing to email?)

They could do a batch of 100 EFT's and this message will be returned for 1 or 2 vendors, not the transmission of the EFT to the bank. That just reminded me, they are using email Manager from Binary Stream. Let me check with them.

Is the message coming from GP? If so, at what stage in the EFT process is it coming?

Or is the error to do with the software you use to transmit the EFT file to your bank?

    Ian.
