Management Reporter 2012 Configuration Error

Hi All,

I'm trying to get Management Reporter 2012 installed for my Dynamics GP server. Everything was going well until it came to configuration time. I specified the proper server and passed all the tests, but deployment of the ManagementReporter fails. According to the logs Creating ManagementReporter fails with the error ".Net SqlClient Data Provider: Msg 5133, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Directory lookup for the file "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data\ManagementReporter_Primary.mdf" failed with the operating system error 3(The system cannot find the path specified.)"

I verified that the path does indeed exist, though the file doesn't, which makes sense as that is the database I'm trying to create.

    Hello jfogel:

    Are you using a named instance of SQL?

    Can you manually create a db under that location?

    If you have access to Sql mang studio, from server properties, database settings, please check what you have for

    database default locations and alter the values according to your situation

    Data:  F:\InvalidPath

    Log:    F:\InvalidPath

    Backup: F:\InvalidPath

    It turns out that the issue was having the default locations inside of the "Program Files" folder. As soon as I moved the default locations to  non-"Program Files" locations everything magically worked.
