Date format with Great Plains

Posted on by 275

I have some workstations that the date in Great Plains is appearing as dd/mm/yyyy.  The setup on the workstations are mm/dd/yyyy.  I changed the format on the workstations to be the right format and opened Great Plains and the date appeared correctly.  But, when the user reopened Great Plains the program reopened with the old format.

1.  Citrix App Server

2.  Format correct on workstations.

3.  Mac Mini and PC are being used.

4.  Other applications like Access Program opens with the correct date format.  Outlook has correct date format.

5.  Other users on the same Same Application Server have no problems with date format.

How does Great Plains resolve the date?  (SQL Server, Work Station, Application Server)

Thank You,

Karen

Well that this point you would need to open a support case but I can tell you that I am 100% sure the issue is users who run into the issue are not actually on the server that you have the regional settings setup correctly. Sorry I couldn't help more.

Yes we have multiple app servers, but inCitrix app management server I can who is signed onto each app server.  And it is only this one app server and only a few users.  Crazy isn't it,  it just doesn't make sense

  • Re: Date format with Great Plains

That doesn't make any sense though Kwong because if they are all using the same server GP will use the same regional settings. Are you sure there are not multiple Terminal Servers?

I"ve checked the sever and the date setup is correct.  I have some users on this app server that get the correct date format.  Others that don't

  • Re: Date format with Great Plains

Remember that GP uses the date or regional settings on the machine that GP is installed on. If you are using Remote app then GP is not truly launching on the workstation but rather on the Terminal Server and then scraping the data over to the workstation. Check the regional settings as Leslie mentioned.

What language was GP installed with? You can check this in About Microsoft Dynamics GP; Language-Country is on the left side of the form.

On the workstation, how are the Region and Language settings set up (in Windows)?
