Mass delete batches in Master Posting

Posted on by 3,225

Good morning,

I am wondering if there is a way to mass delete empty batches not using SQL?  For example every Monday we get over 30 orders via EDI.  Each order goes into its own batch.  Once the order is processed all the way through the batch status is "No Transactions".  As of right now I am going into each batch via the blue batch ID link and deleting it that way.  It would be nice if there is a way to select multiple.  I have Willowares Mass batch change but I cant seem to figure out if it has a mass delete.

Thank you,

I guess Leslie's is the only solution so far.

I just tried to build a new navigation list.  I was able to build it using table SY00500 but it doesn't appear that I can add the delete button into the actions.

    Hi Katie,

If you have SmartList Builder you can create a Navigation List which will then allow you to filter Status=No Transactions and with 2 clicks delete all these batches.

    Good luck

You'll need to further filter this by Origin=1  to restrict it to Payables Trx Entry batches.

You can create a macro to delete them. Your 'source' for the mail-merge would be a query of the SY00500 table that is attached to an Excel workbook. Limit the query to include on those batches that contain 0 transactions You need to decide if you want to delete all batches with no transactions, or just those from a certain source (like payables). You would then use mail-merge to build your macro. With the macro build all set up, you could use it over and over again. My query looked like this:

    SELECT SY00500.BCHSOURC, SY00500.BACHNUMB, SY00500.NUMOFTRX, SY00500.MKDTOPST, SY00500.BCHTOTAL

    FROM TWO16.dbo.SY00500 SY00500

    WHERE (SY00500.NUMOFTRX=0)

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
