Receipt Number is Missing When Print the Receipt in Retail POS

Hi,

I have a problem in Retail POS transaction. The transaction was successful, but the receipt number is missing when the receipt is being printed. Any other details is printed in receipt paper (like terminal id, trans time, amount, line items, etc), but the receipt number is not printed. And the worst case is the transaction was not recorded in store database. I query to the store database and to the AX database, but didn't find any transaction related with that.

Any idea how this could be happen and how to prevent this to happen in the future? This case is never happened to me before.

My current AX version is AX 2012 R3 CU8.

Thanks for the answers.

    Hello Yonathan,

Have you define your Receipt Numbering in POS Functionality Profile ??

They need to be defined for all Receipt Transaction Types.

    Hi Zaheen,

Thanks for the answer. Yes, we have set everything for the POS including the receipt numbering. The store has already opened for about 5 or 6 months and everything runs smoothly, but i got this problem only once since the store has opened. Do you think this is a bug? Because, i saw in AX 2012 R3 CU9 changelog and they mention "receipt number is occasionally missing for retail pos receipts" in the bugs fix list. I think it refers to this issue.

    Regards,

    Yonathan

    Hello Yonathan,

In case your problem is only ocassional, there is a high probability its an issue with the system itself.

    Try to implent the fix.

    Regards,

    Zaheen

We faced a similar issue in AX 2012 R3 RTM and logged the same with Microsoft. A hotfix was released for this.

The proposed fix will clear the posTransaction object when POS catch the exception.

    SwitchToOfflineOnError(x, ref sqlConnectionFailureExceptionOccured);

    Hi Shafeeq,

Thanks for the answer, so it is clear now that this is bug from Microsoft and they already have release the hotfix to fix this issue. Thank you Shafeeq :)
