Fixed asset ID

The fixed asset ID has disappeared on an asset.  Using the lookup you can see that the asset is still there, but the asset ID is missing.  And the "book" screen no longer shows anything in any field.  Any thoughts on how this happened, and how to fix it?

    Yes.  I can see it in the inquiry window.

    Is it possible the asset was retired? Can you look at it via the inquiry window?
