Chart that shows the number of Open Cases from week to week (instead of updating)

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello!

Does anyone have an idea on how to create a Chart that shows the number of open entities (such as cases) at the end of each week?

I figure this must be possible, but I don't know how to create a view that essentially takes a "snapshot" of this data each week, instead of continuously updating.

EXAMPLE: If we had 50 open cases at the end of one week, I would want the chart to plot 50 for that week. If 20 were closed the following week, the 50 would remain and those 20 would factor into the new week's point.

Thank you for any suggestions you may have!

Erik

There is not native snapshotting to do what you are looking for for the general charts and reports.  Sales Insights has some functionality with the forecasting feature regarding the sales entities.  For Service entities, what you are looking for may be able to seen using Customer Service Insights dashboard/reports.  Have you looked into that option?

There is a new cases dashboard - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/ai/customer-service-insights/dashboard-incoming-cases
