Addresses - Location ID

Dear Community,

when I create address through Customer postal address data entity, system obliges me to manually assign Location ID.
If I do it through UI, it automatically generates it based on the number sequence.

What is behind this logic of working?
I would prefer to have them automatically generated and not have it filled in manually.

Kind regards,

    Addresses - Location ID
    Hi Phoenix,

Try to delete the LocationId column from the file and import again.

If it doesn't work,  go to the mapping in your import project and tick  auto generated as true next to the LocationId field.

    Thanks,
    Layan Jweihan

    Addresses - Location ID
    Hi,
The location ID of an address is used to identify a unique address record. Data entities are typically tools used to import data and require a higher level of business than through a UI interface. In this case, manually entering the ID may give the user more space for a custom Location ID. In fact, to put it simply, it gives you the space to edit the Location Id freely, at the same time, it can also avoid data duplication or conflicts. Creating an address through the UI is simpler than creating an address through a data entity, and you can only create one address at a time, so there is no need to customize the Location ID.
    Best regards,
    Kevin
