Segment Always skipped

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi I try to create some segments but they are always skipped.

Why?

Saifou - two things. If you go to the Segment builder and Edit it, can you show us what the definition of the segment looks like?  See first image.  A few things could be happening, but it's very possible there's no data coming back in it. If you click on the Segment name hyperlink, you'll get a different view that will show a grid and the members, but if you edit it, you can see the logic being applied. It might be that something critical is missing, either the condition itself doesn't return a value or maybe the records you're including in the AND clause doesn't have matches.  If you can post a screen shot of it, along with the details of the refresh, we can probably get it figured out.

Can you show me how the segment is setup?  The image you included is for a measure not a segment.

Sure, nothing has changed so it was skipped as part of a different set of processing steps.  When you do a refresh of your data sources or other things it can sometimes cause other parts of the system to need to be updated.  In your case the segment didn't need to be updated so it was skipped.
