Warehouse entries out of async with inventory

Our warehouse scanner performed a bulk movement to move a qty of 200 of an item from bin AA1 to CC3. The item is serialised which means individual lines for each serial number in the item ledger entries and warehouse entries.
Thus it essentially performs an item reclass.
The problem occurred in that only qty 150 arrived in bin CC3. Overall, the inventory levels are correct (item level entries)- qty 200.
However, warehouse entries shows all the transactions for the item leaving the bin but only 150m of the transactions arriving in bin CC3. Thus, there is a delta between warehouse and inventory.
Directed pick and put away is turned off so warehouse adjustment is not possible. The developer has stated there are permissions issues which will not allow any transactions to be inserted on the warehouse entries table.
Thus, I do not have an answer as to how to resolve. Please do not reply suggesting a warehouse adjustment because Directed pick and put away is off.

Go to the Item Journals and click on Calculate Warehouse Adjustment.
BC will try to suggest journal to fix the imbalance.

Best Short-Term Fix: Use the Item Reclass Journal with serial tracking for the 50 missing serials to force BC to generate the warehouse entries properly.

Since Directed Pick & Put-Away is off, here are the real-world approaches you can take:

Re-run or Reverse the Movement for the Missing 50 Serials

    • Identify the 50 serial numbers missing from bin CC3 (compare Item Ledger Entries vs Warehouse Entries).
    • Post a manual Item Reclassification Journal for those serials from AA1 → CC3 again.
    • This creates the missing inbound Warehouse Entries without touching the table directly.
Use Item Reclass Journal with Serial Tracking
    • Navigate: Item Reclass. Journal → Lines.
    • Enter item, qty, from-bin, to-bin, and serial numbers.
    • Post → this updates both ILE and Warehouse Entries consistently.
If the system won’t allow reclass because ILE already shows them moved
    • Workaround: move those 50 back to AA1 (via Item Reclass Journal), then move them again to CC3.
    • This forces BC to regenerate the missing Warehouse Entries correctly.
    Avoid Direct Table Insert
    • The developer is correct — you should never directly insert Warehouse Entries.
    • Only journals or documents should be used, as BC posts both Warehouse & Item entries in sync.
    Thanks
    Ramesh

    Hello,

I would recommend reviewing the user's permissions to determine if there are any restrictions on product access or validating correct access with warehouse employees.

On the other hand, validate and make adjustments through the item journal according to the review that is carried out.

    I hope this helps.

    Regards,

Since Directed Put-away and Pick is off, you can’t correct this through warehouse adjustments. The imbalance means the warehouse posting didn’t finish properly, leaving missing entries. The only safe fix is a data repair by Microsoft support or your partner to realign warehouse and item ledger entries.
