Has anyone done this? I'm interested in best practices and gotchas.

    You're asking in D365 general forum, but your question seems to be about a particular product, not about D365 in general. Isn't it F&O?

    Hi,

    As you mentioned LCS, I assume your question is about Dynamics 365 F&O. There is no support for installing a cloud-hosted environment within a VNET. 
    In case you want to install an on-premise environment, then the deployment is not supported on a public cloud infrastructure. It is supported on Microsoft Azure Stack: Azure Stack HCI – Hyperconverged Infrastructure | Microsoft Azure
