"An error occurred while configuring 'Microsoft Dynamics GP Legacy' when attempting to install Management Reporter.

Hi!

We are attempting to install Management Reporter for the 1st time.  We are on GP 2018 R2 and SQL Server 2016.

It appears that it did create the Management Reporter Database but stopped there.  We are using 'sa' as the User Name and 'sa' is set up as a GP User.

Even though we are using our 'sa' Account, I am thinking we are missing some type of permission or setup item that is affecting the installation.

Welcoming any ideas on what we should check.

Thank you!

    Hi!

We contacted our Partner and they ended uninstalling and re-installing MR for us.  Not sure what they did differently but it is now up and running for us.

    Thank you!

    Hi Karl,

I can confirm like Greg that I usually start by installing the MR Services first and once those are up and running, I add the connector for the ERP system (in the case of GP, Legacy or DM).

Make sure also on the SQL Security side that the domain account you used in the service setup as ownership of the created MR Database.

    Hi Karl,

You'll want to check the deployment log.  That should tell you where it failed.  You can find the deployment in the MR Configuration Console.  On the left side, click Logs | Deployment.

You may also want to try installing just the services first and then go back and install the Legacy provider.  You can do all of them at once, but I find it better to do the two services and then the provider.  That way if something fails, it's easier to narrow down where the failure was at.
