Ledger Settlement

Is it mandatory to do ledger settlements in FNO?. I know about the impact it has on year end, but what if I don't do Ledger settlements and still go for year end, the process and result of YEC remain same way that used to be earlier ?

Hi,

If you are already aware from YEC point of view, there is no other major impact if you don't do ledger settlements.

Ledger settlement is just for reporting purposes. A seperate process. Doesnt effect any process.

Hi Abhinav,

There might be some postings you do on suspension or temporary accounts. If you do execute settlements, it will be a benefit to known what had been cleared already or what transactions are open. Compare this with customer invoices and payments. If you don't do the settlement, you might see a balance on the customer, but you don't know which exact invoices are not paid, unless you settle them. The same applies to ledger settlements.
