Add New Activity button not working for some users

We have a customer who has 2 different CRM environments 1) CRM2011 2) CRM2015. Both on premise. They have reported that some users can no longer add new activities from within the account entity on either environment. The effected users no onger see a drop down list of activity types when the click the Add New Activity button. They have reported that some users are able to resolve the issue by restarting their machines but this does not work for all users. They have tried both IE11 and Chrome and issue happens on both browsers. No changes have been made to CRM in either environements and no changes to any security role. 

Has anyone else experienced this behaviour? I was assuming it was a browser issue?

    Add New Activity Button stopped working but honestly after a while when users signed out of dynamics and signed in again it was working again. I know it sounds dumb but maybe you should try it.

    We are encountering the same issue.  It has been going on for about a month and I have not found a resolution.  It is the web app and not the unified interface.  It works in the unified interface.

    I did enable legacy, but that did not correct it.  Any thoughts on how to correct?

    Hi Andreas,

    To be honest I think the issue resolved itself. We did not apply any CRM updates and the customer was using IE11 and also stated they tried on Chrome. I think the issue just appeared one day and then was gone the next. All users were sys admins (as was I) but I was not getting the issue. That's why I assumed it was there browsers. Sorry that's not very helpful.

    Hi Phil,

    I had/have a similar issue: I have a customer who was on CRM 2011 and was migrated to CRM 2016 both on premise. In both versions, sometimes I received a complainant that users/are were not able to see the "Add New Activity" button in the activities subgrid on the lead form. The activities ribbon is uncustomized. Security roles did not change. Test User on production system with exact same rights. Actually I have no clue what could cause this behavior. Did you find a solution for these issues?
