Hi,

Can Biztalk server be used for integrating different applications with AX 2012 R2?

Any document link would be a great help to understand when we should use Biztalk server to integrate with AX and what are limitations.

Also why we use .Net applications for integration purpose and can we reduce time if we use Biztalk for this purpose.

In dynamics Ax 2009 Provide Dynamics Adpater, But now in Dynamics Ax 2012, they provide AIF services. You can create custom Dynamics Ax services or used Document services. All these services are WCF Services. In BizTalk you can uses Http-WCFBasic or HttpWCFCustom adapters to consume these AIF services. Hopes this will help

The advantage of using BizTalk is that applications don't have to communicate with each other, they just need to be able to communicate with BizTalk and BizTalk will resend the message, transform it to the format expected by the other application etc. If you're looking for AX-related technical details, you can find some in Using Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010 to Exchange Documents with Microsoft Dynamics AX.

The main reason for using .NET for integration with AX is that it's supported in many ways: WCF, .NET Interop, .NET Business Connector…
