I have configured a subgrid of contacts to be editable on the account entity (using the vanilla setup and logged in as a System Administrator) but when I select a row in the subgrid all fields are shown with a lock symbol next to it and cannot be edited.
Running CRM 365 onPremise. Fields include Full name and Email.
This seems like a very straight forward thing to get running but is proving to be anything but.

Full Name is a composite field and can't be edited in an editable grid.

To Edit field in subgrid security role assigned to user need following permissions:
1) Security Role -> Customization tab -> Entity -> Read Privilege -> Organization level Permission
2) Security Role -> Customization tab -> Fields -> Read Privilege -> Organization level Permission
If those privilege are given to security role which is assigned to user then user will be able to access fields in editable grid

Hi JB, somehow the editable grid just started working. I suspect it was some IE update that has been released but we cannot be certain.
We tested the setup just a week ago and found it to be working as expected.

Have you manged to get solution for this issue.
Once upgraded, our Account, Opportunity and Cases editable grid fields are all locked down. Even if there is no custom coding. They all are read fields on the form and no other security applied on these fields.
Post upgrade we also get some red line box on the Activities and Notes tab but it's not a show stopper at the moment like locked editable grid.
You help will be greatly appreciated.

You can see from the screen grab that there are several fields all behaving the same. I am set up as a System Administrator so it is not permissions. It is a vanilla organization with no customisations, apart from setting the view as editable, so it is not basic configuration.
Full name can't be edited from the CRM. Only first name, middle name and last name can be edited which will automatically update the full name.
Plus, who is the owner of the record? May be, you don't have permission to update that record because of the security role.
This is a vanilla organization. No jscript, no business rules, no custom fields.

Have you written any Javascript or business rule on the entity? Or it might be the problem with some fields.
