Sales Batch Entry Posting Date to Match Current Date

Hi,

Is there a way to set GP's Sales Batch Entry to give a warning or automatically set the posting date equal to current date or not post when selected POSTING DATE doesn't match the current date?

Sometimes, users set this to wrong date and the end result is a mess. Any type of rule that will warn users that posting date doesn't match current date or lock/disable the post button on this situation will be a big help. Can you recommend something?

Thanks.

We're also using DocLink to import our orders into GP. To import orders to Doclik, we have customized excel files that when you print to a specific printer, the data will be encoded to DocLink. Problem is the first import scans the date of the document and it automatically changes the posting date of sales batch to the date found in that first document. The user can manually change that date before posting the batch but at least once in every 4 or 5 months, we'll have this error. It takes a lot of effort to fix the mess after it happens.

RE: Sales Batch Entry Posting Date to Match Current Date

    Hi,

When I create a new Sales Batch, the current user date defaults in as soon as I enter the Origin. Are your folks changing the date to something else? To answer your question, you can use a few lines of VBA code attached to the post button that will check the dates for you, but I think you need to be using the menus instead of the ribbon bar to get that to work. There's most likely a way around it, but I'm not sure of what it is. Also, VBA doesn't work with the web client. Absent VBA you could use Dexterity or Visual Studio to get it to work with the web client. Would you want the customization to change the batch date to the current date if they do not match?

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
