Business Central Teams to Essentials or Premium

Hello Business Central,

I was asked if it's possible to upgrade from BC Teams to BC Essentials OR Premium.

My thought is that the customer would have to purchase the BC Essentials OR Premium licenses at the end of the term for their existing BC Team Members license.

Is my thought correct?

Thank you in advance.

As far as I know, this is possible.
However, this is not an upgrade, but a new license purchase.

PS: In addition, since last year, it has supported the purchase of Essentials and Premium licenses at the same tenant.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

Hi there Zhu.....thank you for confirming my thoughts in that the customer would have to end the term for the BC Teams license, then purchase the BC Essentials or BC Premium license.

FYI: You can not have Essentials and Premium licenses in the same environment.

I have a slightly different scenario:

If a user currently has BC Teams and is promoted and now needs Business Central Essentials/Premium...does anyone agree that one way to resolve this is to:
    • turn off auto renew for BC Teams.
    • purchase BC Essentials or Premium
    • end the BC Teams subscription when the term ends?
Otherwise, how would you accommodate the BC Teams user who needs BC Essentials/Premium?
