Gen. Prod. Posting Group Setup accounts cannot be zero or empty

Hello friends,

Back in Navision 3.0 we were capable to leave G/L accounts with no value under Gen. Prod. Posting Group Setup. Now Dynamics 2013 requires values on all G/L accounts. Is there any setup that needs to be disable to ignore that validation?

As quick solution, I created and assigned G/L 0 to empty columns. Now accounting sometimes have to re-class amounts which is creating a big issue.

This is the error message I get if I leave columns with no G/L assigned.

Thank you for your help.

While posting the sales order based on the Product and Business posting group it will find the respective Gen Posting Setup and will use those accounts to post the sales, discounts, cogs... so you need to have those accounts filled.

So basically what are you saying is that not necessary all columns from GPPG setup need to be filled up; just the ones that are associated with the type of transaction?

Yes based on the process you are executing but if same gen posting setup combination is used in another process it will chose relevant accounts.
