Anyone solved? LinkedIn Sales Navigator Dynamics CRM Sync / LinkedIn CMR badge opens related Contact in default app, and custom UCI app seems to be not supported at all

I recently contacted the LinkedIn Sales Navigator support as in our/my LinkedIn Sales Navigator, the CRM badge opens the related CRM Contact (and Account) in the legacy interface, and there is no app selection possibility in the Sales Navigator side CRM sync admin settings. The LinkedIn support didn't seem to know about the Dynamics Unified Interface transition, and they adviced me to contact the Dynamics 365 support for solving this. Let's try this channel first.

I can see that in the CRM badge link the URL actually defines app=d365default, but LinkedIn support said they cannot help us as the problem is not in their end.

We have undergone the final "force UCI" step in our sandbox instance, and it seems that if app is not defined at all, the default app shows an alert suggesting use of an app instead. We're scheduled to receive the update on our production instance soon, and I am worried how these CRM badges will work after that. Is there (going to be) a way to define the default app for a dynamics URL?

Hey! I made the default clear browsing data (cookies, cached images and files etc.) request on my Chrome, and I can confirm that it works beautifully, CRM badge links open in the last used app, exactly as you described. Thank you very much.

    Hello Jani,

In my tests, the URL now renders like this:

    https://[DOMAIN].crm[#].dynamics.com/main.aspx?etc=2&id=%7B[CONTACT_GUID]%7D&newWindow=true&pagetype=entityrecord
Is that the format you're seeing as well?

When the "Unified Interface Only" mode is disabled, the link opens in the legacy web client: OK
When the "Unified Interface Only" mode is disabled, the link opens in the Unified Interface using either the only app the user has access to or the last app they've used, so context should be good.

Hey. Yes, partly. This seems to resolve the issue after the transition has been completed / if the "Use Unified Interface only" is set Yes for the environment. I tested this by setting Power Platform admin center / Settings / Behavior / Use Unified Interface only = Yes temporarily. When this setting was on, the CRM badge opened the corresponding Contact in a very simple UCI, where there was a small alert on top of the page suggesting the user to select an app. I clicked the alert, selected our Unified Interface app, and after that, the following CRM badge clicks opened the record in our preferred app. But - after I switched "Use Unified Interface only" back to No, we ended up in the starting point again.

Letting users decide, as it seems to be the case after the legacy interface is closed, is a good start. Still, until we close the legacy interface for everybody including admins, the problem will remain.

I'm still a little concerned on whether the end users will actually recognize the little alert and select an app before contacting our local CRM support for advice. I'm looking forward to having control over the app in the Sales Navigator settings, either on the CRM or LinkedIn Sales Navigator admin settings in the future .

    Hello Jani,

Can you try again? This should be fixed now.

    Hi Jalanko,

    Thanks for reporting this!
If “Unified Interface Only” is enabled, the record will be rendered in Unified Interface, but in the context of the default app ("Dynamics 365 - Custom", even though hidden to users).
This is probably not the best experience and ideally should be opened without the &app=d365default parameter so that it opens in the default / last opened app.
    I've forwarded the feedback internally.
