Dynamics GP Keyboard Shortcuts (Yes/No Selecting)

On occasion, when a user is extending screens between their laptop and monitor, they are unable to select a pop up box in GP that asks Yes or No with their mouse and need to do so by keyboard.  Anyone know what the Yes/No keyboard shortcuts are in GP?

    Hi BillieM!

Usually when I am testing different issues in my own system I use Tab which will change whatever button is already selected when the window appears and space bar which accepts whichever button is highlighted.

Please let me know if this works for your user or not!

    Hi Billie,

There is not specific shortcut for YES or NO in GP... it all depends on the context and which button is selected by default (if any)... As Thomas said, TAB and ENTER are your best friends on the keyboard in put side.. I agree that with the removal of the 3D button effect in Windows 8.x and up, (same for Windows Server 2012 and up), it become harder to 'identify' the default selected button / object in a GP form, since the highlight is only a very narrow border line colored in blue.  This is one of the biggest complain I received from my users when we switched from the old Citrix server (running under Windows 2003) and the new TS RDS apps server that runs under Windows 2012 (i.e. same as Win10 on the desktop presentation).

A GP client running still under Windows 7 emphasizes much better the default button that is selected.. nonetheless, if neither one or the other buttons are selected by 'default', you need at least to press TAB to see if the button changes in color and gets selected, before you hit the ENTER key.  Rarely is there an association with the ALT- key that would allow you to press ALT-Y for example. Associated shortcuts have one of the letter underlined when you press the ALT key. Cursors can be used too sometimes to navigate in menus, but not going from one field to the other.

    it's very helpful.
