Multi company concept in D365 Sales

Hello everyone,

I am coming from Dynamics AX background and just started to learn D365 sales. I have a question if someone can please help me to understand.

As we are able to set up multiple companies/Legal entities in AX/D365 is it also possible in D365 Sales?

How would we implement this requirement for a customer who needs a system for USA and UK?

Would we need two different D365 sales subscriptions one for the USA and one for UK and user will need two unique Logins to access each company?

Regards,

    Hi,

I believe Legal Entities https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/fin-ops/organization-administration/tasks/create-legal-entity cannot be created in Dynamics 365 Sales. In Dynamics 365 Sales, we can create entities however that is different then the legal entities in AX.

Entities in Dynamics 365 : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customerengagement/on-premises/developer/introduction-entities. We already have an OOTB Account Entity in Dynamics 365 which can be treated as a company record.

That being said, I see that as per article https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/supply-chain/sales-marketing/prospect-to-cash you can use Common Data Service to enable the flow of data between Finance and Operations apps and Dynamics 365 Sales i.e. you can use the Legal Entities in AX and should be able to link and use it with Dynamics 365 Sales.

If this is helpful, kindly mark this as verified.
